My Favorites

Sunday, February 4, 1996 by Dave Winer.

Good Afternoon!

First, be sure you have a helper app that can play "wave" files. Check out my "Mac Helper Apps" page for some pointers.

It's a rainy 1996 winter Sunday morning in California. I'm playing with various net search engines, visiting my favorite movies collection on the web, and leaving a trail behind me. I learned a lot, smiled a lot, had a few laughs and a few sings too! So, get in the spirit. A good half-hour surf on a Sunday afternoon.

Let's get nostalgic!

It's a smoky bar in Africa in 1942. Ingrid Bergman is sad. She's so beautiful! Torn between love and her cause.

She asks and Sam sings.

Cooool!

It may be the most beautiful movie ever made.

So on with the tour...

On some pages you'll find music and dialog. For one movie all I could find was a poster for its soundtrack. You'll also learn out about Philips new CD movie format. A movie archive in Mississippi. The web is still an eclectic mix. But I was able to find something for each movie. A few months ago that wouldn't have been true.
